Az Őrségi Nemzeti Park Igazgatóság Őriszentpéteri központtal információs pontok hálózatát hozta létre a vas megyei Natura 2000 területek értékeinek bemutatása érdekében. A projekt célja, hogy mindaz itt élők, mind pedig a területeket látogatók ismereteket kapjanak a Natura 2000 területek kijelölésének céljáról, természeti értékeiről, kiemelten a jelölés alapjául szolgáló fajokról és élőhelyekről, a megőrzésükhöz szükséges kezelési tevékenységekről és az azok elvégzését támogató pénzügyi eszközök A Látogatóközpont épülete nyújtotta lehetőségekről. A korábban önkormányzati tulajdonban álló, hajdanán pedig a Savaria Tourist kezelésében lévő területen 2018-ban fejeződött be az a nagyberuházás, amelynek keretében az Őrségi Nemzeti Park Igazgatóságának új székhelye épült, illetve új turisztikai funkciók is helyet kaptak. A korábbi Őrségi Fogadó épületének földszintjén nemzeti parki ajándékbolt, és Tourinform iroda létesült, emeletén pedig az Őrség Natura 2000 terület természeti értékeit bemutató kiállítást hoztak létre. A kiállítás hazánkban újszerűen, felnagyított makettekre alapozva, az élőlények és a környezet összetett kapcsolatrendszerét fókuszba állítva mutatja be a lakókörnyezet, az erdők, a gyepek és a vizes élőhelyek értékeit.
ln order to show the values of the Natura 2000 areas in Vas County, the Őrség National Park Management has created a network of information points with Őriszentpéter as a central point. The project is aimed at providing knowledge and information for both the local population and the visitors about the purpose of designating the Natura 2000 areas, the natural values of these areas, especially the species and habitats farming the basis of designation, about the activities required to preserve them and also about the possibilities provided by the financial means that support thepreservation activities. The big investment project carried out in the area formerly managed by Savaria Tourist and later owned by the local municipality was completed in 2018 and included the construction of the new headquarters of the Őrség National Park Management with some new tourism-related functions added. On the ground floor of the farmer Őrség Reception Building a national park gitt shop and a Tourinform office have been established, while on the upper floor an exhibition space tor displaying the values of the Őrség Natura 2000 areas has been opened. Using a technique of magnified models, being still new in Hungary, the exhibition focuses on the delicate system of interrelationships between living creatures and plants and their environment, showing the values of areas surrounding residential zones, of forests, grasslands and wetland habitats.
